Remedial Massage
At Your Osteopath, remedial therapy is thought of as a useful part of an integrated treatment system. Remedial therapists work closely with the other members of the health care team in order to provide you with the best possible benefit from treatment.
The treatments are tailored to your requirements and may include a combination of:
Remedial Therapy/Massage
This involves determining details of your site of pain/injury and directing a series of direct, hands-on techniques towards relieving these problems. This is achieved with various muscle testing techniques, massage and stretching. Remedial Massage is also often known as Deep Tissue Massage.
Trigger Point Therapy (TPT)
Used to effectively and quickly release muscle spasm. Many common complaints that occur in specific relationship to muscular dysfunction are easily released with this simple approach. In conjunction with stretching techniques TPT relieves muscle pain, constriction and tenderness very effectively.
Sports Massage
Often used to assist in reducing muscular tension created by large training commitments, excessive stress and workloads. Regarded as a therapy which goes beyond a relaxing therapeutic massage.
Stretching Treatments
Based on MET (Muscle Energy Techniques) and/or PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching techniques. This type of treatment will help you increase flexibility, increase joint range of movement and ease muscle pain.
